AI peer review for academic papers

See what reviewers may question.
Strengthen the paper before you submit.

Upload your Word manuscript. PerfectPaper reviews your argument, methods, evidence, citations, figures, and tables together, then returns passage-linked feedback you can discuss and act on — as comments in your own document.

How it works

A reviewer that reads the whole paper

Full-paper reading

PerfectPaper reads every section in context — methods, claims, and figures together — not a paragraph at a time.

Structured, sourced feedback

Each comment quotes the passage it refers to and explains the issue, so you always know exactly what to revise.

Discuss, then resolve

Talk through any comment with PerfectPaper, mark it addressed, and export a submission-ready manuscript.

Before the review

Start with the right paper and the right context

Before you spend a credit, PerfectPaper shows you what it recovered from your file. Then you add the study decisions and constraints that the paper alone cannot explain.

Verify what the review will see

  • Confirm the title, abstract, authors, article type, and research area.
  • See which sections, figures, and tables were recovered, so you can correct missing content before paying for a review.

Shape the review around your study

  • Answer targeted questions, record fixed constraints, and choose up to three target journals.
  • Brief up to three custom reviewers when you need a methods specialist, a journal-specific lens, or deeper literature research.

From critique to revision

Keep control of every change

A paper rarely goes in once. One workspace holds the whole effort — every draft, the reviewer comments that come back, and the cover letter — until the manuscript is published.

See what each point of feedback is based on

Open the exact passage in your own document, see why it matters, and ask PerfectPaper to explain it.

Turn feedback into a revision plan

Filter and prioritise findings, preview suggested edits, and accept or dismiss each one.

Finish without losing the review trail

Undo accepted changes, keep an edit history, export DOCX or PDF, and prepare an anonymous copy for blinded review.

FAQ

Common questions

How long does a review take?

Allow up to 3 hours. We email you as feedback arrives.

What file types can I upload?

Word documents (.docx) and PDF.

Are journal and funding matches free?

Yes. Matching your manuscript with journals and funding opportunities does not use a credit. Starting a paper review uses one plan review or credit.

What is a workspace?

A workspace holds one manuscript and everything that goes into publishing it: each draft you review, the reviewer comments that come back, your cover letter, and any supporting documents. Tag them so the file stays in order. Your account includes My Workspace and one more.

Can I export my reviewed paper?

Export the revised paper and saved feedback as DOCX, annotated PDF, or print view, and prepare an anonymous copy for blinded review.

Is my paper kept private?

We treat manuscripts as confidential, restrict access, and do not use them to train PerfectPaper models. Configured service providers process content only to deliver and protect the service.

How is this different from a grammar checker?

Grammar and style tools improve sentences. PerfectPaper evaluates whether the paper works as a whole: whether the methods support the claims, the results agree across text, tables, and figures, and the discussion stays within the evidence.

Trust & privacy

Your unpublished paper stays under your control

Your papers are yours. PerfectPaper does not use uploads to train its own models; configured providers process content to deliver requested reviews.

Deleting a review removes it from view immediately and schedules permanent deletion after a 48-hour recovery window.
